Meghalaya family brings Walinda’s mortal remains home from Rajasthan

Nongpoh, April 30: The mortal remains of a teenage girl who died on Friday under mysterious circumstances in Rajasthan have arrived today at her residence in Marngar village, under Nongpoh police station in Ri Bhoi District, Meghalaya.

As informed by her father, Walinda Binong was studying at the School of Design in Mody University, Sikar, Rajasthan. However, her sudden death in Rajasthan has left her family and community in a state of shock.

The 19-year-old girl was from Marngar village in the Ri Bhoi District of Meghalaya. She was reported dead at her college hostel in Sikar town, Rajasthan, under mysterious circumstances. The college authorities alleged that she had poisoned herself and later hung herself, but the teenager’s family have rejected this completely.

With the help of the Ri Bhoi Police and her family, her body arrived today at her residence in Marngar for the last rites amid sorrow and pain for her family and friends.

According to sources, a caller asked the girl’s father to get to Jaipur right away because his daughter’s health had worsened, and she had been admitted to the Lakshammgarh Community Health Centre.

Ruby Binong, the father of the deceased, said that when he arrived at the institute on Friday at around 7 pm, the authorities informed him that his daughter had passed away, and her body was being kept in the mortuary of the community health centre. He was also informed by the authorities that the post-mortem report would be completed by Saturday.
