Meghalaya’s former Assistant Inspector General GK Iangrai granted bail

Shillong, March 30: A lower court has granted bail to suspended senior police official Gabriel K Iangrai.

This was confirmed by his advocate P Yobin.

Iangrai was arrested on November 2, last year by the CID sleuths following a raid conducted at his residence at Shyiap, Golflink.

A case was registered on October 28, 2022, based on the allegation of misappropriation of funds in the construction of the NERS PSAP facility at Sadar PS Complex.

Prior to this, a probe team headed by Inspector General (Law and Order) Mukesh Kumar Singh had found Iangrai’s alleged involvement in the procurement of 29 vehicles when he was holding the post of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (Administration).
