Meghalaya NPP sure of winning Sohiong seat

Shillong, April 25: National People’s Party (NPP) leader and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong today expressed confidence that his party will win the Sohiong Assembly seat in the upcoming election to be held on May 10.

“Our candidate’s prospect is very good and the fight is between us and the UDP candidate and also it seems with the Congress candidate but we will work hard till May 10 and I am sure we will come out victorious,” Tynsong told reporters.

The NPP is fielding former MLA Samlin Malngiang.

When asked if there will be any political change after the election, Tynsong said, “I cannot tell you now. Let us see if any political change happens within May 6, 7 and 8”.

Shillong, March 9: BJP Mahila Morcha State President Judy Surong has expressed her gratitude to all the members of the Mahila BJP for working tirelessly in the just concluded Assembly elections.

 “I thank the central leadership, State Prabhari Dr M. Chuba Ao, Election In-charge Dr Sambit, Rituraj Sinha, BJP Media Convener Assam Rupam Goswami and Meghalaya In-charge Aienla Jamir for actively involving the Mahila Morcha in every sphere of the campaign, in terms of providing resources which enabled us to reach out to women of the state to create an awareness about how central schemes have enriched and eased their lives,” she said in a statement.
