Shillong, March 24: Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma today said that scholarship is being disbursed to over 27,327 students in the state.

He said the Centre on March 21, released the last instalment of scholarship amounting to Rs 85.0779 crore under the scheme 'Umbrella Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship" for scheduled tribe (ST)students for the academic session 2023-2024.

Earlier, the first instalment of Rs 42.32 crore was released on June 24, 2024 and paid to 17,364 students and second instalment of Rs 66.67 crore released on November 20, 2024 was paid to 32,064 students.
