Shillong, May 7: The North East Students' Organization (NESO) and All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) have jointly with the home department and district administration safely dropped around 240 students at the Imphal airport.

Students from CAU, RIMS, NIT, MU and other institutes belonged to Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura, Assam, Orissa, Kashmir and other states, NESO assistant secretary general Wangjam Sanatomba Meitei said in a statement.

He said NESO urged students to return to the state after normalcy is restored for their further studies.

"NESO appeals to the students not to spread false news about Manipur and NESO and AMSU is working hard to bring peace in the state," Wangjam added.
