Shillong, July 4: North-Eastern Hill University is taking a major step toward enhancing cross-cultural education and employability by establishing a Russian Language Centre and signing a partnership with global placement expert Dr Skill.
During an official visit to the Russian Embassy in New Delhi, NEHU Vice Chancellor held discussions with officials on promoting Russian language instruction and cultural exchange.
The Russian House at NEHU will serve as a hub for language learning, cultural events, and academic cooperation. It will offer training workshops, certification courses, film screenings, and support for research collaborations.
In parallel, NEHU will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Dr Skill to facilitate international placements and specialised skill development programmes aligned with global job markets.
Russian officials confirmed plans to send an expert in November to help establish the centre. They pledged full support, including access to educational resources and faculty.
