Shillong, Aug 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits via video conferencing. The Rozgar Mela was held at 45 locations across the country.
Expressing her happiness, Baiahunlang Syngkli, one of the new recruits to BSF from Meghalaya said, “I am very happy and the glory goes to God. I am happy for getting this job because I have been working hard from the beginning." She exhorted the youths to be hardworking and work for the county and the society as a whole.
Another recruit from Meghalaya, Parbati Hajong thanked the Prime Minister for the opportunity to join the CAPF and providing the appointment letters on the spot. She said, “I am very happy today to be present here and we have been handed over the joining letters by hand. My mother would also be very happy to witness this. I will deliver my duties with full dedication. I want to extend my gratitude to the Prime Minister. We are getting a chance to join the force. There cannot be anything happier than this.”
Through this Rozgar Mela event, the Ministry of Home Affairs is recruiting personnel in various central armed police forces (CAPFs) such as Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Sahashtra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Rifles, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as well as Delhi Police. The new recruits, selected from across the country, will be joining the various positions such as Constable (General Duty), Sub-Inspector (General Duty) and Non–General Duty Cadre Posts in various organisations under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Addressing on the occasion, the Prime Minister congratulated the new appointees for their selection as ‘Amrit Rakshak’ during the Amrit Kaal. He called them ‘Amrit Rakshak’ as the new appointees will not only serve the country but will also protect the country and the countrymen. “You are ‘Amrit Rakshak’ of this ‘Amrit Kaal’”, the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister underlined that this edition of Rozgar Mela is taking place at a time when the nation is filled with pride and confidence. He said that Chandrayaan 3 and the Pragyan Rover are constantly transmitting the latest images of the Moon. In this prestigious moment, the Prime Minister said that the new recruits are beginning the most important journey of their lifetime and conveyed his best wishes to all the new appointees and their families.
The Prime Minister emphasized the responsibility that comes with the selection in Defence or security and police forces and said that the Government has been very serious about the needs of the forces.
He mentioned major changes in the recruitment of paramilitary forces. The process of recruitment got speeded up from application to final selection, examinations are being conducted in local languages. He also informed about the special quota for the youth from the border area and extremism-affected areas.
Union Minister of State for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma joined the Rozgar Mela at the Headquarters of Direcorate General of Assam Rifles, Laitkor, Shillong wherein he distributed appointment letters to the new recruits following the Prime Minister’s address. 218 numbers of recruits received their appointment letters at the 8th edition of Rozgar Mela held in Shillong today.
The Union Minister, while expressing his delight for the successful organisation of the Rozgar Mela, said that the process is on for providing 10 lakh government jobs to youths in different ministries and departments of the central government. This is a crucial step fulfilling the continuous efforts of PM Modi towards ensuring job opportunities for the youth without nepotism and corruption.
The Minister also appreciated the efforts put forward by the government in providing the opportunities to the youth to appear the recruitment examinations in local languages. He opined that this effort will enable youths from different parts of the country to appear in the examinations as examinations are being conducted in 13 local languages in places of English or Hindi as was the case earlier.
Highlighting that the Rozgar Mela is a significant addition to the various initiatives of the central government, Singh said that with the addition of more than 51,000 appointments today around 5 lakhs youths have been provided appointment letters during the 8 numbers of Rozgar Melas so far.
The Union Minister appealed to the newly recruits that they should always remember to work for the welfare and service of their countrymen. Extending his heartiest congratulations to the newly recruits, the Minister said, “In 2047 when India will be celebrating the 100 years of its Independence, the youth who came to the forces today would have reached new heights in their career, therefore the Prime Minister has also expressed the hope that these new recruits will work with dedication to serve the nation and the general public and would become a worthy citizen of this nation.”
