Shillong, July 18: The Meghalaya government is preparing a note for the cabinet to discuss the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) as the National Law Commission has sought views of the state government on its implementation.
Law minister Ampareen Lyngdoh told reporters today that the national law commission has sought views and observations of the state, though she is yet to see the documents.
"I was told that the law commission has sent to us for observations, and we are preparing a note for the cabinet to discuss the same," Lyngdoh said.
