Tura: Former MDC Roynath Sangma, a four-term Member of District Council has passed away, prompting an outpouring of condolences across the state.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing him as a stalwart who played a crucial role in shaping the political landscape of the Garo Hills region.
In a heartfelt message, the Chief Minister noted Roynath Sangma's longstanding association with his late father, (L) P.A. Sangma, calling it a "close and cherished bond." He lauded the former MDC’s pivotal role in strengthening the party's presence and influence in the region.
“His unwavering dedication, humility, and service to the people will always be remembered,” the Chief Minister said. “I extend my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
