In a significant move offering relief to the hospitality and food service sectors, oil marketing companies have reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹58.50, effective from Monday, July 1.
With the latest revision, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi now stands at ₹1,665, down from ₹1,723.50 in June. Similar reductions have been seen in other major cities: Kolkata now pays ₹1,769, Mumbai ₹1,615.50, and Chennai ₹1,730.
This is the second consecutive month of price cuts, following a ₹24 reduction in June. Industry experts attribute the downward trend to softening global LPG prices and favourable international market conditions.
The price cut is expected to benefit restaurants, small eateries, and food vendors—especially those undergoing training or just entering the business—by reducing input costs.
Meanwhile, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders, which remains steady for the time being.
The government and oil companies are closely monitoring international price fluctuations to decide on future adjustments.
