Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has lauded bodybuilder Hillang Yajik for her remarkable accomplishment at the South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships, where she made history as the first woman from the state to win a medal at the international event.
Representing India in the 55kg women’s category, Yajik secured a bronze medal, marking a proud moment for both her and the state. CM Khandu, in a social media post, praised her determination and hard work, describing her as a trailblazer and a source of inspiration for young women in Arunachal and across the region.
He commended her perseverance, especially considering the challenges athletes from remote areas often face. The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of promoting and supporting female athletes, noting that Yajik’s success paves the way for future generations.
