Jowai, Oct 8: The District Medical and Health Officer's office in West Jaiñtia Hills District distributed Android Tablets to ASHAs and ASHA Facilitators who are from the Laskein, Thadlaskein Block today.
This initiative is part of the National Health Mission's efforts to enhance the effectiveness of ASHAs in their work. The distribution took place at the District Auditorium Library in Mynthong and was graced by the presence of Jowai Local MLA, Wailadmiki Shylla, who served as the Chief Guest.
The Deputy Commissioner, BS Sohliya, who also chairs the District Health Society, along with District Medical Health Officer Dr. K Dhar, Additional DMHO Dr. P Shylla, District Programme Manager Rapki Shullai, and District Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr. M Syngkon were among the dignitaries in attendance.
During the event, Shylla emphasized the crucial role that ASHAs play as dedicated volunteers in rural communities. He highlighted the fact that their services are the most challenging aspect, despite receiving minimal compensation. Shylla urged ASHAs to focus on the assistance and support they provide to society as a whole, rather than solely on their payment.
